2.   Oil  Pulling

Known as ‘Kavala’, Oil-pulling  is an ancient Ayurvedic practice that involves swishing oil in one’s mouth (usually coconut oil). Not only is oil-pulling said to be advantageous for one’s oral health but it also has additional benefits on one’s body specially for the skin .When oil-pulling is carried out on an empty stomach first thing in the morning, it absorbs toxins that have accumulated in the mouth during the night. This has positive effects on various parts of the body, which is why the technique so popular. For the mouth, oil-pulling has the greatest of effects. The anti-bacterial nature of the oil strips away bacteria and gives whiter teeth, stronger gums and curbs bad breath. The toxins in the mouth often meet the body and blood stream, which in turn affects the skin. As oil-pulling cuts toxins out from the source, it helps clear the skin of impurities which can cause acne , dullness and rashes and helps your skin improving it overall health and glow.

How to do oil pulling?

First of all make a choice of oil you wanna use , ideally extra virgin coconut oil works best for oil pulling but if you have any kind of coconut allergy you can go for olive oil or sesame oil , they pretty much works the same, then on an empty stomach, take one tablespoon of the oil and squish it all through your mouth. Continue to do so for 15 – 20 minutes, moving the oil to different areas of the mouth. Make sure to spill out the oil afterwards as it is loaded with toxins and then use a mouthwash or brush your teeth.

3. Meditation

Meditating for just a few minutes every day brings energy (also known as prana in Sanskrit which means life) into your body and creates a feeling of calm and relaxation. During meditation, prana helps repair your body’s the tissues and cells which give skin a fresh, youthful glow.

Also, mindful breathing (also known as pranayama in yoga practices ) while meditating adds oxygen to the skin, which is key in boosting cellular health. This increased oxygen rejuvenates your skin, balancing your body and your mind while transforming your body’s cells and tissues. It improves your complexion, reduces wrinkles and slows down the aging process from the inside out making you look and feel younger.

4. Exercise

Doing your favorite exercise for 30-40 mins can be a game changing for your skin health because  When you get your heart pumping from aerobic exercise, you’re supplying your skin with a nice dose of oxygenated blood which results in a glow from within .Working out also helps maintain healthy levels of the stress-related hormone called cortisol ; Elevated cortisol levels are linked to increased sebum production, which means more acne breakouts. Too much cortisol can also cause the collagen in the skin to break down, which can increase wrinkles and sagging.Exercise supports the production of collagen a substance which is responsible for the elasticity of skin and helps skin appear younger and healthierThe boost in this protein helps to keep your skin firm, supple, and elastic.”

To reap the beneficial skin effects of working out, a few extra steps are required, if you’re acne prone, make sure to keep gentle, fragrance-free cleansing wipes in your gym bag. Be sure to cleanse your face and other areas that tend to break out immediately after exercising. For eczema, wear fabrics that wick perspiration away from the skin, since the wet-dry-wet-dry cycle will dry out your skin and provoke flare-ups, And above all, avoid exercising with makeup on your face.

5. Including a green drink in your morning routine

Green juices and smoothies are loaded with a ton of goodness including a lot antioxidants which are known to have a lot of ant-aging properties Antioxidants  protect the skin by reducing and counteracting free radical production. These free radicals, as a refresher, can assault your skin, damaging healthy skin cells and creating oxidative stress. Antioxidants in green juices and smoothies protect your skin from this and help reduce pigmentation and fine lines and wrinkles and results in overall glow, even and healthy skin. There are a variety of green drinks to choose from but my go to is my own Green punch smoothie ,, that I drink every morning whose preparation I’m mentioning below , it’s very simple but loaded with a lot of health benefits.
